Only Smiles Underneath These Masks

We have had yet another successful delivery day!

I am so glad that we have had such a great start of the year. Volunteering with Kare4All allows our volunteers to meet new people as well as catch up with old friends. It is truly a gift that we have been able to do so much with this nonprofit in only a year.

Over the course of the year, I have learned so much about running a nonprofit including how to create a website such as this one.

Although it may seem like a great challenge at first, creating a nonprofit is very achievable. I like to make a list and set dates for when I want certain goals to be achieved. I knew little about how to create a nonprofit at the beginning of this process, but slowly I have began to learn different skills that can also be applied to my everyday life.

Kare4All has caused me to engage much more with others, which has been a gift. I have not always been the most outgoing person in the room, but Kare4All has caused me to put myself out there and meet new, amazing people. Another social aspect that I had to adjust to was interviews. Although interviews seemed very scary at first,  I began to love to spread the message of Kare4All to others. Giving these interviews caused me to become a better public speaker, which will help me later in life. 

This nonprofit has taught me how to stay on a schedule and how to effectively use time management. I utilize these skills outside of Kare4All such as when I have to balance my extracurricular activities with my schoolwork. Kare4All has taught me how to stay on a schedule, which has caused me to become much more organized. I now make weekly goals of all that I want to accomplish and when.

I wanted to explain some of the great aspects that come from running a nonprofit because I hope to inspire others to travel down this path as well. Participating in nonprofit work causes one to build a relationship with his or her community, create lasting friendships, and develop helpful skills. If you are thinking of starting a nonprofit someday, I totally recommend it. I have gained some unforgettable memories from the experiences I have had with Kare4All. If you decide to take a leap and do something great for your community, the feeling that you will get from it is indescribable.
